Acetylene highest flame temperature among all fuel gases makes it the widest used fuel gases in fabrication applications.

Flammable, Explosive (High energy bonds), High heat of combustion, Nontoxic but generally contain toxic impurities such as Arsine and phosphene
Colorless Odorless in its pure form Garlic-like odor (Phosphine), Density = 1.1 kg/m3, Boiling point = -84 °C
